Loyal Fan and Baby Bunny

Here is Hayden displaying her loyalty to the White Sox.

Hayden is looking more and more like a little girl. Who do you think she looks like, mommy or daddy?

Talor is doing much better. Her tummy has gone down to a normal size and she is eating from a bottle again. She weighs 4 lbs. and 12 oz. Getting bigger!!! She has also been able to maintain her own temperature, this means she has been out of the isolette and in a crib.
We love this white hat the nurses put on her. One of her nicknames is Bunny.

TODAY: Hayden = 10 months old and Talor = 3 weeks old

Sorry for the delay in posts. It's been busy!
Talor gave us a bit of a scare when Ryan arrived yesterday for her 6am feeding. During the night she had apparently developed a Distended Belly. It looked pretty bad and forced her to go back on an IV and into a warmer (she had just graduated to a crib 12 hours before). She had a host of blood tests, x-rays, and had a camera go inside and take pictures of her intestines. After all of that they really do not know why she ballooned like that, but as of 6am today she is doing great and her belly is back to normal. She will resume bottle feeding too. Yahoo!
We will be taking more pictures of her tonight.

Hayden has really turned into a little ham when it comes to pictures. When she sees the camera she starts yelling and waving her arms as if to say "I am over here and you NEED to take a picture of ME!"

Talor is doing well. She is still at 4 lbs. 3 1/2 oz. She is drinking a bottle (1 oz.) for every feeding. She has moved from the isolette to a crib. The Dr. took her off of Caffeine (for Apnea spells) on Sept. 9 and she has not needed it since!
Pray for:
More weight gain
Ability to keep own temperature up
Strength to eat 100% from a bottle

Talor and Hayden Update

Hayden is doing well, in spite of all the running back and forth to the hospital that we do. She is getting very close to crawling. So close that she fell off our bed last night. Thank God we have not yet replaced the super soft carpet with hardwood!

Talor is now getting closer to her birth weight (4 lbs. 5 oz.) at a whopping 4 lbs. and 3 1/2 oz. She had gotten down to 3 lbs. and 12 oz.
She is now breathing regular air all by herself and has been off the IV for 1 day.
She is only eating the milk that I have been pumping. The nurses have commented many times saying that 2/3 of the breast milk is fat. A good sign that she should have no trouble getting bigger.

Thanks again to everyone who has been praying for us!
I will post some new pictures tonight.

Talor is doing well. Unlike her sister, she LOVES her pacifier. This is great exercise for future bottle/breast feeding.
She now weighs 4 lbs. and 3 oz. Good job little one! She has been having trouble being constipated. Please pray that she starts digesting the milk better, so her feeding dose (5cc's) can be increased.

Talor's First Bath

Under the Bilirubin light for her Jaundice treatment.

Talor had her first bath on Saturday night. The nurse took this rare photo of Talor with her eyes open. We are anxiously awaiting seeing this miracle for ourselves. Thank you for all of your prayers and encouragement. Talor has already been fed some of Joy's breastmilk.

Welcome, Talor Belle Smith!

Talor Belle Smith arrived 8 weeks early on 9/1/2006 at 3:11pm.
She weighed 4 lbs. and 5 oz. She will be in NICU for several weeks. Please keep her in your prayers. On the other hand, I am feeling great. The labor went very well, all natural, 4 hours, 2 pushes, and she was out! I am home now pumping milk and we will try to visit Talor at least 4 times per day.
